About us
Peter Henderson originally trained in ship and yacht joinery before coming ashore in Brighton and setting up as a carpenter and joiner in the middle 1990's.
He now specialises in bespoke fitted furniture - outfitting studies, bedrooms and kitchens with purpose built, hand crafted cabinetry - as well as taking on free-standing furniture commissions.

Bespoke fitted furniture
From simple bookcases or floating shelves, to wardrobes that fit wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling to maximize the use of space.
Home offices and studies are in great demand with more people working form home. I can design fitted desks with under-mounted drawers and keyboard shelves, and bespoke filing and storage cabinets to match.
A project just completed enabled the use of a spare room to be expanded: A ceiling height cabinet was created with a pull-down double bed inside. When the bed is closed, a flap lifts up to become a desk. From study to guest room in two easy steps!
Kitchens:
Kitchen design isn't just about good looks, but creating a kitchen that is easy to use every day. As part of the design process, I discuss with my client how they would like to use their new kitchen to discover what the likely patterns of movement will be.
How many people will be using the kitchen at the same time, and for what activities? \ My aim is to design an efficient kitchen, so that wasted movement is kept to a minimum.\"
Free-standing furniture
Sometimes my clients need items made to fit their home, but also want the ability to take the furniture with them when they move. I can make free-standing bookcases and cabinets to closely fit an alcove or other space, but without being actually built in.
Dining tables are another item that can benefit from being custom built, as store bought models are only available in standard sizes. A recent commission was a \"rustic plank\" table made 15 cm narrower than the standard 90 cm in order to fit into my client's compact kitchen.
